Oblia Hydroid
This is a fluorescent image of an Obelia hydroid. The Obelia hydroid is a marine animal in the family of Cnidaria. This animal goes through two generations in each life cycle. The first generation appears as the hydroid colony shown here that is made up of polyps. The hydroid colony is stationary and attaches itself to the ocean floor
The second stage is a free swimming stage that lasts until the Obelia reproduces, after which it forms a hydroid colony again. -
